What is Sponsored Residential Care?

Sponsored Residential Care is a unique and meaningful opportunity to provide a home for individuals with developmental disabilities. It allows caregivers to open their hearts and homes, offering personalized care in a family-like setting, while receiving support, training, and compensation for their service.

"Person-Centered" Sponsor Residential Services

Sponsored residential services take place in a licensed or DBHDS authorized sponsored residential home. These services shall consist of skill-building, routine supports, general supports, and safety supports, provided in a licensed or approved residence that enable a person to acquire, retain, or improve the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings.​ Sponsored residential services to the individual in the form of continuous (up to 24 hours per day) services performed by the sponsor family. Sponsored residential support includes the expectation of the presence of a skills development component, along with the provision of supports, as needed. These supports may be provided individually or simultaneously to up to two individuals living in that home, depending on the required support. Maximum 1:2

Group home residential services offer 24/7 skill-building, routine, and safety supports in licensed homes, helping individuals develop self-help, social, and adaptive skills for thriving in community settings. These services, provided by paid staff, include a skills development component to promote growth and independence.

In-Home Support Services

In-home support services provide skill-building, routine, and safety supports in an individual’s home, family home, or community settings. These services supplement primary care by ensuring health, safety, and welfare, helping individuals develop self-help, social, and adaptive skills for successful living in home and community settings.
